Dr. Callis assumed his role as Senior Pastor at Douglasville First in August 2008. He is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He earned the Doctor of Ministry in pastoral care and counseling at Erskine Theological Seminary. His teaching style in the pulpit offers practical Bible insights for growing believers, as well as for those seeking a new relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Callis and his wife have three adult children and two grandchildren.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CHAIRMAN
David Manuel oversees all ministries of Sunday School and Discipleship, and is supervisor of the sound and media for worship services and special events. David is married and has two children. He is employed at University of West Georgia as Technical Director for the Townsend Center of the Performing Arts.
NAZARENE MISSIONS PRESIDENT
Connie Callis has a heart for people. She leads and coordinates the local and global missions ministry and chairs the missions council. She is the pastor’s wife, and she is a public school teacher in Douglas County.
Mark Freeman and the trustees committee are responsible for all aspects of the local church involving building maintenance and improvements, and grounds care. Additionally, the “finance committee” functions under the supervision of the trustees committee. Mark is married and has three children.
Janet Goins and her committee of stewards are responsible for all matters in the local church pertaining to worship, church growth, benevolence, and pastoral care. Janet is a devoted wife, mom, and grandmother.
Amy Allred serves as the church accountant, monitoring church income and expenditures, and reporting monthly to the Church Board and annually to the congregation.
Kari Manuel serves as Church Board secretary. She records and distributes minutes of all board meetings and official church business meetings. She is liaison to the Georgia Nazarene District when the pastor is unavailable. Kari is on staff at Oak Mountain Christian Academy, and also serves in the area of children’s ministries.
